I like the way you’ve connected all the examples you’ve mentioned with this film. Definitely a timeless theme and often my mind.

I actually ONLY read books that are one million years old sooooo.....

In an effort to start watching some of the movies you’ve recommended that I haven’t seen before, I managed to watch some of Birds of Passage! Thank you for the recommendation.

And now I have the funky little tune that plays in the movie stuck in my head. It’s very boingy!

Also, I really like the sentiment behind the title “Birds of Passage.” That’s actually a beautiful thought.

“I constantly wonder how I’ll react when I have a son telling me he wants to marry his AI girlfriend.”

I’d be interested in reading your thoughts on how you might react in this scenario. A possible future essay prompt? :)

😂😂😂 You're in my book camp then, by a factor of 10. Also yes, constantly on mind too, both on how to avoid having an obsolete thinking and also preserving certain traditions.

Ohh I'm so glad you watched parts of it, thank you for taking the time. It's such a fascinating movie for me. Love how they managed to portray the story, so original. And "boingy" is such a perfect description for the tune, and all of the movie actually.

About the title, thank you for mentioning, when I started thinking deeper about why they decided to title it that way, I was in awe when I discovered that connection.

And I'm interested in how I'll react to haha so definitely a prompt for an essay someday ;)

Thanks for the movie recommendation! It looks great and I’m going to check it out ASAP.

I generally am very impressed by people younger than me and I love learning their slang, what music they like etc. However I also wonder what kind of stuff my daughter does will make me feel old and confused and angry like the world is passing me but

A never-ending cycle, and probably pays to be aware of it to not fall into obsolete thinking. Would love to hear what you think of the movie Charlie, thanks for stopping by!

Hey Oscar, I love this blend of your remarks on a present cultural conversation with a movie that depicts facets of the issue. Maybe you'll do more of this. I like it! As a now older person I've been on both sides of the fence, having rolled my eyes often in my youth at elders who complained about me and my generation, and now rolling my eyes at myself as some strange biological force takes control of my aging brain and tries to convince me that all the modernization I see around me is the end of the world. Gheesh. We're funny.

Definitely one of the lines I want to continue Rick, glad you like it and thank you for mentioning it!

😂😂 Loved how framed it, we're definitely funny, and predictable it seems. We can only be cognizant of the situation, and laugh 🤷‍♂️
